Nexgrill 720-0896 heat plates

720-0896 / 720-0896E five- and six-main Home Depot Nexgrills need more tents than 720-0830H. Typical aftermarket tents are ~14-9/16" long — count five or six to match mains.

720-0896 (E/B/C suffixes) is the big Home Depot Nexgrill family — often five or six mains, not the four-main 720-0830H / 720-0864 kit. Aftermarket tents are commonly ~14-9/16” front-to-back, but width and count differ from the 4-pack pinned for 0830H. Count tents to tubes.

Procedure

  1. Read 720-0896 including E/B/C. Count mains (5 vs 6).
  2. Cold. Grates off. Measure tent length and width.
  3. Do not install a leftover 4-pack from an 0830H.
  4. Replace tents with daylight in the peak.
  5. Set one tent per main. Front view: no naked ports.
  6. Preheat. Close gaps.
  7. Tubes lace: 720-0896 tubes.
  8. Wrong 720: model plate.
