Clean versus clogged burner ports Left tube shows even open ports and a blue flame sketch. Right tube shows grease-clogged ports and a yellow uneven flame. BURNER TUBE · PORTS CLEAN Even blue cones. Every port open. CLOGGED Grease in the holes. Yellow, lift, dead spots. Ream with a bit smaller than the port. Do not drill oversized. Brass brush the row. Keep liquid out of the venturi / inlet. If the tube wall is lace under the ports, replace the set — do not patch holes.

Char-Broil Commercial 463242715 (and 463242716) is a TRU-Infrared 4-main Home Depot cart. Tubes are G466-2500-W1 class: about 14-3/4” × 5/8”. They sit under emitter plates, not under Performance 17” tents. Do not install Performance burner kits here.

Also common: 463257520, 463276016 — same IR 4-main family if the plate and tape agree. Find the 463- string.

Procedure

  1. Photograph the full 463- model, including the last three digits. 463242515 is a 3-burner kit.
  2. Tank off. Cast grates and 17” emitters out. Note how tubes pin and how carryovers clip.
  3. Pull cotters. Slide 5/8” inlets off orifices. 1” Nexgrill tubes will not swallow this brass.
  4. Sky-check. IR boxes still flash back if the inlet is short of the orifice.
  5. Dry-fit four 14-3/4” × 5/8” tubes. Carryovers on this family are often adjustable 5–7.8”.
  6. Pin rears. Electrodes if they unclipped. Emitters back — they must sit flat. Over-tall tents from a convective kit will teeter the emitters.
  7. Tank on slowly. Soap. Lid open. Light each main, then the side burner if equipped.
  8. Floor rust through: repair vs replace.

FAQ

Is Char-Broil Commercial 463242715 the same as Performance?

No. 463242715 is TRU-Infrared (emitters + G466 tubes). Performance convective uses G470-class 17” tents. Mixing kits is the usual return.

G466-2500-W1 plus the 463242715 string. Confirm 14-3/4” × 5/8” in hand.
