Clean versus clogged burner ports Left tube shows even open ports and a blue flame sketch. Right tube shows grease-clogged ports and a yellow uneven flame. BURNER TUBE · PORTS CLEAN Even blue cones. Every port open. CLOGGED Grease in the holes. Yellow, lift, dead spots. Ream with a bit smaller than the port. Do not drill oversized. Brass brush the row. Keep liquid out of the venturi / inlet. If the tube wall is lace under the ports, replace the set — do not patch holes. Fig. — Burner tube: clean ports (left) versus clogged ports (right). Many 463347519-class 5-burners use ~17.75” tubes (G470-5200-W1 family). A 4-main cart of the same lid name may share length and differ in count. Measure. Plate .
Safety
Tank off and out.
Do not bend orifices.
Lid open for the test.
Procedure
Photograph tubes, crossover or carryover notches, and the electrode.
Grates and Performance tents out.
Electrode off if it blocks the left tube. Performance igniter .
Rear pins or screws out. Slide off the orifices.
Sky-check. Extra holes: scrap.
Dry-fit. Every inlet swallows brass with the rear hole on the mount. If the last tube will not land, wrong length. Stop.
Pin the rears. Gap the electrode. Tents over port rows.
Tank on. Soap the coupling. Lid open. Light each main. A roaring jet at the shutter is a missed orifice.
The verified kit above is a Performance 5-burner class bundle. If you own a 3-main, do not invent a use for the extra tubes — return the mismatch.
