Char-Broil Performance heat plates

Performance 4-burner tents are often 16-15/16 inches (G470-0004-W1), not Advantage 15-1/8. Measure, count, and seat peaks over the tubes.

“Performance” on the lid has covered multiple firebox widths. The plate cares about length, tab style, and count — not the marketing name. A common 2017+ Performance 4/5 convective cart uses G470-0004-W1-class tents at about 16-15/16” × 2-1/2”. Advantage 15-1/8” tents will walk. TRU-Infrared emitters are not open tents.

Done versus dirty

Procedure

  1. Photograph plates in place and the model sticker.
  2. Measure one tent, not the box. Write quarter-inches.
  3. Count tents. A 4-main cart should not get a 5-piece set unless you have a leftover.
  4. Compare the verified ~17” Performance listing above. If your tape is 15-1/8” or 15-1/2”, that listing is wrong for you — search instead.
  5. Gloves. Lift. Scrape tabs. Set peaks over tubes.
  6. Grates on. Confirm nothing shifted.
