Q 1200 ignition is a small AAA module, a chrome/black button, and a ceramic clipped to the single tube. Weber 64868 is the 2014+ Q 1200/2200 kit. It does not fit Q120/Q220 (those are 80462-class). It does not fit Spirit. Family overview: Weber Q igniter. Larger box: Q 2200 igniter.

Procedure

  1. Read Q 1200 on the plate (often 510xxxxx). Q2200 is a bigger box; the 64868 kit is shared, the burner and lid are not.
  2. Lid up. Press the button. No click: AAA in the button body, then the module. Click, no snap: ceramic or lead.
  3. Snap, no light: regulator reset and check the short venturi for spider webs.
  4. Tank off. Lift the grate. Photograph how the ceramic clips.
  5. Pull the lead from the igniter body. Unclip the ceramic. Get both pieces if it is cracked.
  6. Install the 64868 ceramic at the factory tab. Nickel gap. Seat the lead fully.
  7. Fit the new button/module and AAA. Lid up. Snap, then knob to start. Turn the box out of the wind.
  8. Cracked lid or rusted-through box: repair vs replace.
