Weber Spirit II E-210 igniter replacement

Spirit II E-210 (2017+ GS4) uses OEM 67135, not original Spirit 7642. AA module, collector, and 10.5-inch crossover — two-burner chassis only.

The Spirit II E-210 is a two-burner GS4 cart (2017+). Ignition is still two AAs and a collector, but the kit is 67135, not the original-Spirit 7642 used on front-control E-210/E-310. Wire lengths and the electrode bracket on the left GS4 tube do not match a 2013–2016 Spirit collector.

What you should see

Procedure

  1. Tank off. Remove the two cooking grates and the three 15.3” flavorizer bars.
  2. Photograph the electrode gap, the collector posts, and the wire path through the cook box.
  3. Pull the spade from the collector. Do not yank the wire through a rusted hole.
  4. Unclip the ceramic from the left GS4 tube. Vacuum shards. The II left burner has a factory electrode tab — that is the target, not a random port.
  5. Install the 67135-class electrode. Gap about a nickel. Seat the 10-1/2” crossover so both tubes share flame.
  6. Fresh AAs in the well (usually under the left table). Polarity is stamped. Corroded springs: dry brush, not oil.
  7. Lid open. Snap test. Left knob start, then open the right. If the left lights and the right does not, the crossover is missing or rusted — not a second electrode.
  8. If the button is silent with new AAs, replace the module that came with the 67135 kit. Original Spirit 7642 modules have different harness lengths.

FAQ

Does a Weber Spirit II E-210 use igniter 7642?

No. Front-control original Spirit 210/310 uses 7642. Spirit II 210 (2017+) uses the 67135 kit (module, button, electrode/collector). Mixing them leaves a short or long lead and a collector that does not clip the GS4 tube.

Why does only the left burner light on a Spirit II E-210?

The II 210 has one electrode. The right burner should carry across a 10-1/2” crossover. Replace the crossover, not a second ceramic, unless you actually see two factory electrodes.
