Weber Spirit SX-315 igniter

Spirit SX-315 electronic ignition: OEM 69850-class kit / 69794 electrode on many SX schematics. Confirm front-control Spirit 315 — not Genesis Infinity.

SX-315 schematics commonly list 69850 (igniter kit) and 69794 (electrode for electronic ignition, Spirit ’13 class). That is the Spirit electronic family, not Genesis II Infinity 66354/69310 and not Spirit II GS4 67053 unless your plate and collector match that year.

Procedure

  1. Read Spirit SX-315 on the plate. Note battery well location.
  2. Lid open. Press button. No tick → batteries / module.
  3. Tick, no snap at a tube: electrode ceramic and lead.
  4. Snap, no fire: regulator.
  5. Tank off. Pull grates/bars. Photograph ceramic and collector.
  6. Replace electrode or kit per schematic. Gap at the factory tab on the tube.
  7. Side burner spark is a separate ceramic if your SX has one — match bend and length.
  8. Test lid open.

FAQ

Can I install a Spirit 7642 kit?

Only if your exploded view shows the same collector/button family. SX-315 often uses 69850-class naming — order to the schematic, not the forum post.
