Procedure

  1. Photograph the full 720-0888 string on the rating plate.
  2. Count mains and any sear. Measure length and diameter of an old tube.
  3. Tank off. Grates and tents out.
  4. Slide tubes off orifices. Label positions. Sky-check for lace / splits.
  5. Order only to measured size + model string. Dry-fit — inlet must fully swallow the brass.
  6. Rear pin lands without stretching the tube. Carryovers must bridge.
  7. Soap the tank coupling. Lid open. Light each main.
  8. Flashback or flame at the shutter: tube short of the orifice or a nest — spider webs.
