Timberline 850 exists as early AC (parts lists cite TFB85WLB / KIT0088–KIT0223) and later D2 / WiFIRE (KIT0255). Ordering the wrong generation bricks the swap. Photograph the controller and hopper badge.

Procedure

  1. Identify AC vs D2 from the controller / WiFIRE features / model sticker.
  2. Unplug. Clean cold pot.
  3. Photograph rod depth and connector.
  4. Remove rod. Continuity test.
  5. Install the matching generation rod only.
  6. Glow test on startup.
  7. Search-only — no pinned 6”/8” ASIN.
  8. Keep-warm fan faults are separate from a dead rod.
