Weber Genesis II E-315 igniter

Genesis II E-315 uses electronic / Infinity-style ignition (66354-class on many 310/315 years), not Spirit 7642 or Spirit II 67053. Three ceramics, no sear electrode.

Genesis II E-315 ignition is the electronic II system: hold the button, rapid tick, color-coded leads to three mains. It is not a Spirit AA tray. Weber’s 310/315 family often lists 66354; we did not pin a live ASIN (the OEM listing we checked previously was gone). Search BBQGuys and Amazon against the plate. E-335 sear adds a different kit family (67532 on many years) — that is E-335 igniter, not this page.

Overview of the II 310 procedure: Genesis II E-310 igniter.

Procedure

  1. Lid open, knobs off. Hold the button. Rapid tick = II electronic. Single click = you may be on original Genesis, not II.
  2. Note which ceramics snap. Left snaps, right does not → local electrode or a lead off the module.
  3. All three snap, nothing lights → gas. Regulator reset.
  4. Tank off. Grates and E-315 bars out.
  5. Photograph lead color and bracket. Pull the connector at the module, not mid-wire.
  6. Unclip the ceramic. Vacuum shards. New electrode: same bend, nickel gap, same color lead if the kit is coded.
  7. Test lid open before bars go back. Do not add a fourth ceramic “for luck.”
  8. Third module and a rusted rail: rusted firebox.

FAQ

Can I install Spirit II 67053 on a Genesis II E-315?

No. Different module, different ceramics, different cook box. 67053 is Spirit II 310.

Is Genesis II E-315 the same igniter as E-310?

Often the same 66354-class three-main kit. Confirm the schematic for your serial. E-335 sear is not on this chassis.
