Napoleon Rogue 425 igniter and electrode

Rogue 425 spark ignition: OEM electrode N240-0040 (rear/sear 90-degree, 29-inch lead on RSIB years) and module N357-0021LY. Match the exact Rogue variant on the plate.

Napoleon Rogue 425 is a 3-main 42k-class cart. Ignition is electronic spark, not a Weber AA Spirit box. On Rogue / RXT / RSE-1 schematics Napoleon lists N357-0021LY (2-spark 4.5V block) and N240-0040 (90° electrode with 29” lead — often the rear / IR ceramic on RSIB). Main-tube ceramics and N240-0026 side-burner electrodes are different SKUs. Prestige LED buttons (N660-0013) are not Rogue-base parts unless your panel actually has them.

Procedure

  1. Read Rogue 425 vs Rogue SE 425 RSIB vs Rogue PRO-S. Rear IR and side IR change electrode count.
  2. Lid open. Hold the igniter. Rapid tick. No tick: battery in the module, then N357-0021LY-class block.
  3. Tick, no snap at one burner: that ceramic. Mains live, rear IR dead: N240-0040-class, not a main tube electrode.
  4. All snap, no fire: regulator reset.
  5. Tank off. Grates and sear plates out. Photograph each ceramic bend (90° vs straight) and lead length.
  6. Pull the boot at the module. Replace one electrode. Nickel gap at the factory tab on the N100-0060 18-gauge main tube.
  7. Do not reuse a cracked porcelain. Vacuum shards so the next spark does not short to the box.
  8. Test lid open. Side burner: N240-0026 if that is the dead ceramic.

What OEM igniter is a Napoleon Rogue 425?

Module N357-0021LY on many Rogue/RSE years. Electrodes are location-specific: N240-0040 (90° / 29” lead, often rear IR), N240-0026 (side). Confirm the exploded view for your RSIB vs base 425.

Can I use a Weber 7642 kit?

No. Different voltage, connectors, and cook box.
