Char-Broil Commercial 463242715 IR emitters

TRU-Infrared 463242715 emitters are G533-2200-W1 class ~17 × 10-inch plates under the cast-iron grates — not the narrow G466 tents under the tubes.

On 463242715 the perforated stainless emitter (OEM G533-2200-W1, about 17” × 9-7/8”, usually a 3-pack) sits under the cast-iron cooking grate. It is not the narrow tent (G466-0024-W1) under the tube — that is the heat plates guide. People order Performance 17” convective tents and the emitters will not seat.

Procedure

  1. Plate 463242715 / 463242716. Confirm TRU-Infrared (emitters under grates).
  2. Cold. Lift cast-iron grates. Measure each emitter: ~17” × ~9-7/8”–10-1/8”.
  3. Count three emitters across a 4-burner IR box (standard Commercial layout).
  4. Lift warped/rusted emitters. Scrape the rail so new plates sit flat on the tents.
  5. Set three new G533-2200-W1-class emitters. They must not teeter — rocking usually means wrong tents under them.
  6. Cast-iron grates on. Preheat. A gap at an emitter edge is a flare path — flare-ups.
  7. Tents rusted too: 463242715 heat plates.
  8. Tubes lace: 463242715 burners.

FAQ

Emitters vs heat plates vs cooking grates?

Emitters = perforated IR plates (G533-2200-W1). Heat plates/tents = narrow shields over tubes (G466-0024-W1). Cooking grates = cast-iron tops (G541-0016-W2 class). Measure all three.
