On 463242715 the “heat plate” is a narrow stainless tent (G466-0024-W1, about 15-1/4” × 1-13/16”) under a 17” emitter. People order Performance 17” tents (G470-0004-W1) and the emitters will not seat. Advantage G361-0003-W1 2”-wide tents are also wrong.
If the emitter itself is rusted, that is a G533-2200-W1-class search — different part than this tent.
Procedure
- Plate 463242715 / 463242716. Count four mains.
- Cold. Grates off. Lift emitters. Measure the tent under each: ~15-1/4” × ~1-13/16”.
- Compare the verified IR kit listing. Reject 17” Performance photos.
- Lift old tents. Scrape the rail so emitters sit flat.
- Set four new tents peaks-over-tubes. Height must leave room for the emitter + grate.
- Emitters on. They must not teeter. If they rock, the tent is too tall — return it.
- Grates on. Preheat. A gap at the emitter edge is a flare path.

FAQ
Do I replace emitters or tents on a Commercial IR grill?
Tents (G466-0024-W1) shield the 5/8” tubes. Emitters (often G533-2200-W1) are the 17” IR plates under the grate. Measure both; they are not interchangeable.
Will Advantage 463344116 tents fit 463242715?
No. Advantage tents are a different width/tab family (G361-0003-W1).
